Good weekend of training helped by the weather. Good 65km ride Saturday on my own and then 96km on Sunday with big Cog and Nick. Very lumpy ride into East Sussex.

Welcome to our blog - 6 guys who met up and were inspired enough by a ride from Lands End to John O'Groats in 2010 to want to do another big ride. Thanks to Maurice Brear who has organised it all we will be embarking on a ride down the Pacific Coast in September from Vancouver to Mexico. 3000kms over 23 days cycling should keep us all out of mischief!!

We will be using this blog to family, friends, sponsors and others on our preparations leading up to the ride and our progress during it. We hope you will find it of interest - it's a fair challenge so your messages of encouragement would be gratefully received.

Getting gear together to cycle to work in the City tomorrow - up at 5am, park in Sevenoaks then 25 miles on the bike. Same process home. Looking forward to getting some miles in - been a poor week.

Good training ride Saturday. Cycled from Tonbridge to see the finish of the Olympic Mens road race. Great atmosphere in London just a shame Cavendish couldn't close the gap enough to set up a sprint finish to Gold ! Cycled back to Tonbridge. So 115km ride and got to get my first taste of the Olympics.
